Inglewood, located in southwestern Los Angeles County, is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The city had 107,762 residents according to the 2020 U.S. Census. The city was incorporated on February 14, 1908. It lies in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, near the Los Angeles International Airport.
The Forum was designed by Charles Luckman, who also designed Madison Square Garden. It was designed in the style of the Roman Forum. The Forum was one of LA’s biggest concert venues for decades; Elvis Presley, Led Zeppelin, and the Jackson 5 have all performed there. In addition to being the home of the NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers and NHL’s Los Angeles Kings, the Forum is also most famous for hosting concerts. As of 1999, the two teams moved to the Staples Center, and the Forum was sold to Faithful Central Bible Church, which used it for services and rented it out for concerts and sports events. The Madison Square Garden Company, owners of New York’s Madison Square Garden, acquired the Forum in 2012 for $23.5 million. MSG announced plans to invest $50 million to refurbish and renovate the arena to serve as a “world-class” concert venue. Chase’s “Fabulous” Forum reopened on January 15, 2014, with the first of six Eagles performances. With the reinvention of the Forum, music and entertainment have been emphasized at the nation’s largest indoor performing arts venue.
Inglewood City Council unanimously voted on February 24, 2015, to seek approval for plans to build a stadium, dubbed SoFi Stadium, on a 60-acre plot of land within Hollywood Park. The area was then rezoned to accommodate sports/entertainment uses. Hollywood Park’s Lake Park is said to recycle 26 million gallons of water a year and covers an area of six acres (2.4 ha). As a result, developers were able to begin construction in December 2015, as planned. Construction began on the Inglewood site on January 13, 2016, a day after the NFL approved the Rams’ return to Los Angeles. The stadium opened in 2020.
Inglewood has appeared in several movies and TV shows, including:
The interior of Inglewood City Hall (1 Manchester Boulevard) served as the fictional headquarters of the Inter-Agency Defense Command in The New Adventures of Wonder Woman and served as the coroner’s office in Jack Klugman’s 1970s television drama series Quincy, M.E.
Inglewood served as the filming location for The Wood, a 1999 movie about three African American men reminiscing about their childhood in 1980s Inglewood.
Dope, a 2015 film, is set in Inglewood’s Darby-Dixon neighborhood (nicknamed “The Bottoms”).
Inglewood is served by the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services’ Curtis Tucker Health Center. From 1954 until 2007 the city was serviced by the Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital. Inglewood still serves and is the home of Centinela Hospital Medical Center.

The city of Hawaiian Gardens is in Los Angeles County, California. With an area of approximately 1.0 square miles, it is the smallest municipality in the county. It was incorporated on April 9, 1964. During the 2010 census, the population was 14,254, down from 14,779 during the 2000 census.
The name of the city came from a 19th-century refreshment stand built with palm fronds and bamboo. For many years, this landmark was the only landmark in the rural area, and its name stuck as the small town grew around it. Gardens Casino accounts for more than $9.2 million (65%) of the city’s revenue.
The Hawaiian Gardens neighborhood is located at 33°49′43′′N 118°4′25′′W (33.828565, -118.073646).[7] It is bordered by Long Beach and Lakewood, and by Cypress, located in Orange County.
The city has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 kilometers), according to the United States Census Bureau. There are 1.0 square miles (2.6 km2) of it that is land, and 0.01 square miles (0.026 km2) that is water (1.09%). Among the cities in Los Angeles County, Hawaiian Gardens is the smallest in area.
The Hawaiian Gardens fruit stand was opened in 1927 on the corner of two dirt roads of Carson and Norwalk. Therefore, the name Hawaiian Gardens was born. During the Great Depression, people came to the area to buy or build a home. However, many of the houses were not equipped with modern conveniences.
In the late 1920s, Norwalk Blvd was the only paved road in Los Angeles. From Pioneer Boulevard to Norwalk Boulevard to Carson Street, all the little town’s roads were dirt for the next 35 years. Paving of roads began immediately after the city was incorporated in 1964. As of 1966, all streets between Pioneer and Norwalk to the south of Carson were paved. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, all streets were paved, and the three major thoroughfares of Norwalk, Pioneer, and Carson were widened to current traffic standards.
Governed by a council-manager form of government, Hawaiian Gardens operates under general law. Members of the city council are elected at-large. The city manager is appointed by the city council. Policy and ordinances are established by the council and implemented by the city manager, assisted by the department heads.
A city council member must be a Hawaiian Gardens resident and registered to vote. The city elections are nonpartisan according to the California Constitution.

At the Glendale Public Library on Harvard Street is the Special Collections department, where original documents and records document a great deal of Glendale’s history. There are more than 20,000 books on cats in the library, one of the largest collections in the world. The Jewel City Cat Fanciers Club donated it to the library in the 1950s.
By the 1970s, the city had undergone significant development, with the completion of the Glendale Freeway (Highway 2) and the Ventura Freeway (Highway 134). Among these were redevelopment of Brand Boulevard, renovation of the 1925 Alex Theatre, and construction of the Glendale Galleria shopping mall, which opened in 1976, and was expanded in 1982.

The city of El Segundo is in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The city was incorporated on January 18, 1917, and it is a member of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments. During the 2020 Census, there were 16,731 people, an increase of 0.5% over 16,654 people in the 2010 Census.
El Segundo has several aviation-related and petroleum-related industries and operations.
El Segundo, which translates to “the second,” was named in 1911 when Chevron built its second refinery. More than 5,000 barrels of crude oil per day are transported to the refinery from South America’s Amazonian region. The first flying field was leased by William Mines, an immigrant from Canada. The Los Angeles Municipal Airport, which later became Los Angeles International Airport, opened north of El Segundo in 1930; its presence led to a concentration of aerospace and aviation-related companies in El Segundo.
The aerospace industry is well represented in El Segundo, with big names such as Boeing, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Wyle Laboratories, the Aerospace Corporation, and Aerojet Rocketdyne Holdings having facilities there. Two of them are headquartered there. Los Angeles Air Force Base and the Space and Missile Systems Center, which is in charge of military space acquisitions, are also located there. Along with the Chevron oil refinery, El Segundo is also home to Hyperion’s sewage treatment plant and El Segundo’s power plant.
The American energy company NRG operates the El Segundo plant. Using sustainable and environmentally friendly techniques alongside fossil fuels, NRG planned to create a combined cycle power island that could power up to 240,000 homes. In 2013, the new power plant was scheduled to be completed using two generators: a Siemens gas turbine and an additional steam turbine. A gas turbine is powered by natural gas, while a steam turbine is powered by hot exhaust gases. This increases the power plant’s efficiency by up to 58 percent. Since natural gas does not emit as much carbon dioxide during combustion as other fossil fuels, this type of power plant is extremely environmentally friendly.
Nash Motors originally built the Boeing Satellite Development Center in 1946 and opened it in 1948. Originally a missile-building facility, the 500,000-square-foot building (46,000 m2) was purchased by Hughes Aircraft Company in 1955.
Mattel, AT&T Entertainment Hub, PCM, Inc., and A-Mark Precious Metals are among the companies headquartered in El Segundo, as are Big 5 Sporting Goods and Stamps.com. Teradata and Square Enix both have development centers in the city.
